I got a lot of feedback that people loved the “Slower Than Others” gear I added to No Pity City recently, so here’s something different starring a very similarly drawn tortoise. I just love the design of this bag!

If somebody is moving slowly – literally or metaphorically – please remember that it’s probably not by their choice. Many people have invisible problems, things you can’t see, that slow them down. Pain, fatigue, and a lot of other problems can force people to move slowly even when they want to be fast.

What the sticker says is most definitely true – some of us move slower than others. And some of us move a lot slower. And it’s not fun to be the one forced to go slow, especially when the public isn’t accommodating of slowness. If somebody is moving slowly in front of you, please remember [...]

I just love this Disability In Space mug that Sofia_Youshi designed. It’s the perfect thing to make you smile while drinking a hot tea or coffee in the morning, or warming up with a mug of soup after being out in the snow.

People with a disability don’t ask for pity – so don’t accept it either. Let people know with this shirt that you are your own person and you expect them to treat you with respect.

Do you find you need to remind people that the autism spectrum is just something different? Do the neurotypicals totally fail to get what you mean? Perhaps this will help remind them.

This is what a person with an invisible disability looks like … exactly like anybody else. Wear this shirt when you’re sick of getting abuse for using your disabled parking permit. Whip it out to grab a much-needed seat on public transport without the nasty looks. Give it to all your friends to wear, so [...]

Do you have a prosthesis, a cochlear implant, a pacemaker, or a pair of callipers? What about a wheelchair, crutches, a powerchair or a scooter? And if you do, are these things part of your self-image like mine are? On the other hand, maybe you’re just a member of The Borg or you’re a Cyborg! [...]

Being a person with a disability necessitates being a person first. It’s just that this is one of those things that – especially for those with severe and/or disfiguring disabilities – a lot of able-bodied people seem to forget. With this shirt they’ll be forced to remember, and I for one think that’s a good [...]

Sometimes we just don’t feel as “gung ho” and “out there” as the slogans on some of these shirts. I decided I wanted to design some “more gentle” slogans for those days that people needed some TLC and this was my first try.

A shirt to display to the world that you’re chronically happy and proud of it too! Chronic happiness isn’t something that just “comes to you” if you have a chronic illness or disability do deal with, as well as all the usual trials of life, so it’s definetely something you *should* be proud of!
